Dr. Ben Wyant

Chiropractor

Dr. Benjamin C. Wyant D.C.My interest in helping people goes back to my childhood. My dad suffered from gout. When he had flare ups, it kept him from participating in family activities –and with five active kids, there was always something going on from sports, to music recitals, to hunting.

We found that gently massaging the inflamed joint provided relief, and I found great personal satisfaction in knowing that I could use my hands to make someone else feel better. When it was time to choose a career path, I knew that I wanted to do something in the healthcare field, and I wanted to work with my hands.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF PAIN CLINIC

As I neared the end of my schooling, I had the opportunity to spend time in several clinics, including Dr. Curt Draeger’s clinic in Green Bay, Wisconsin. It was intriguing to find that his clinic, his adjusting style, the technology he used, and the relationship

he had with his patients –everything was different from what I had seen elsewhere.  We interacted with our patients as people first and patients second. We weren’t so rigid, we joked around a bit, and we definitely did not provide “cookie cutter” care.

TREATING PRO ATHLETES

I was fortunate to be hired on as his associate at a clinic that was truly evolving care. While in Green Bay, I learned how to adapt the treatments we used on professional football players, college athletes, and Olympians to help everyday people suffering in chronic pain.

The combination of real relationships and progressive treatments resulted in excellent outcomes for our patients.

EVOLVING CHRONIC PAIN TREATMENT IN CEDAR RAPIDS

After successfully opening a second clinic for my mentor, we agreed that it was time for me to move on and open my own clinic, back home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

At InMotion Pain Solutions, we offer patients access to the most advanced, non-invasive therapies for treating chronic pain in an environment that feels more like the corner café than a doctor’s office.

Often patients who come to our clinic are desperate. Many have gone through the entire medical spectrum of specialists, medications, and invasive procedures and have not found relief from their pain.  They’re frustrated. They feel like no one has truly listened to them. Some have been told that nothing more can be done for their pain.

Then they come here, and it’s different from anything they’ve previously experienced –the therapies, the way we interact, the successes that we have. People tell me they are feeling better than they have in, literally, decades.

It’s nice to get up in the morning and to be a part of that.

Dr. Ben Wyant is a true Midwesterner, having lived in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri. He attended the University of Iowa and Logan University in Missouri.
